Ronald Reagan Limited Series in the Works at USA Network
USA Network is turning its lens on former President Ronald Reagan.
The NBCUniversal-owned cable network is teaming with the late president's daughter, Patti Davis, to develop a limited series about the actor-turned-politico.
The as-yet untitled project will explore Reagan's early days as a lifeguard, his time in Hollywood and his victories and failures as a president as well as what made him an American paragon, beloved husband and complex father. This is the first project about Reagan that comes with cooperation from a member of his family.
The drama will be written by David Rambo (Fox's Empire, TNT's Will), who previously penned a one-man play about the former president called The Lifeguard. He will executive produce alongside Davis, Asylum Entertainment's Steve Michaels, Jonathan Koch and Joan Harrison and Primary Wave Entertainment's Ben Press and Bryan O'Connell. The project hails from USA Network corporate sibling Universal Cable Productions.
The USA limited series is the latest effort to explore the life of Reagan. History is also readying anthology The Commanders, a scripted series about former U.S. presidents that will include Reagan.
