Could Ryan Phillippe be Marvel's next Netflix superhero?

The actor, currently starring on ABC anthology drama Secrets and Lies, told Howard Stern on Wednesday that he's having talks with the comic book powerhouse.

"I'm meeting with … Marvel is interested in talking about Netflix, a series possibly," he told Stern on Wednesday as he promoted Sunday's Secrets and Lies season finale.

Phillippe is among the stars of the ABC drama who have one-year deals for the series, which is heating up for a potential second-season renewal.

While no deal is in place for Phillippe (and Marvel declined comment), Netflix recently released the first of its upcoming five Marvel shows with Daredevil. The massive pact consists of Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox; Jessica Jones with Krysten Ritter; Iron Fist, which has yet to be cast; Jessica spinoff Luke Cage starring Mike Colter; and miniseries The Defenders, comprised of stars from all four other shows.

Following the interview, Phillippe took to Twitter for a follow-up: "I have no real Marvel news other than an upcoming meeting. Sorry to disappoint fans thought there was more to it. there is no story there," he wrote.
