Samie Kim Falvey is returning to the executive suite.

Falvey has been tapped as president of independent production company Imagine Television. The news comes a day after Francie Calfo was promoted to chairman of the company.

For Falvey, the move marks a return to television after she served as head of M4, the planned over-the-top service from AwesomenessTV and Verizon. The effort folded in February. Before that, she was head of comedy at Disney-owned ABC.

"Samie is an amazing and respected executive with great taste and deep relationships,” Calfo said. “I'm thrilled to have her in this key leadership position as the company expands."

TVB recently invested $100 million in Imagine to co-finance and co-produce television projects for the company. Imagine, the company behind Fox's Empire, Nat Geo's Genius and more, also has a co-financing and co-production deal with CBS.

"As a longtime fan of Imagine series and films I jumped at the chance to work with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, Francie and the team,” Falvey said. “Imagine has an unparalleled track record of making excellent content that resonates with both critics and audiences. This is an incredibly exciting time for the company as they continue to grow and expand and I’m honored to be a part of it.”
