Samuel L. Jackson has a way with one-liners  a fact he's proven in movies from Pulp Fiction to Snakes on a Plane.

"He can make anything his own," said Stephen Colbert on Monday's Late Show as he asked Jackson to read famous movie lines that, once read by the actor, "will be yours forever, regardless of how they originated."

The Hateful Eight star gladly took on the Gone With the Wind line "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!" and "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die," from The Princess Bride, as well as memorable moments from The Wizard of Oz, The Graduate, Dirty Dancing, The Lion King and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

And Colbert couldn't help but admit that Jackson would record the best voicemail outgoing message for the host: "Maybe they'll call you back. Then again, maybe they won't. That's how life is. Point is, you've done what you can! Have a nice day."
