Sarah Wright Olsen is returning to The CW.

The actress, who had an arc on the final season of the network's 7th Heaven, has landed the leading role in The CW's drama pilot Skinny Dip.

Based on the novel by Carl Hiaasen, Skinny Dip revolves around a woman who, after her husband tries to kill her on what she thought was a romantic cruise to celebrate their second wedding anniversary, teams with a jaded ex-cop to exact her own twisted brand of revenge on her cheating spouse. She winds up uncovering a wider conspiracy in the process.

Olsen will topline the project as Joey, who lives off of a substantial trust fund from her deceased parents and a huge life insurance policy from her deceased former fiancé. She's smart, funny and married to a charming yet shallow husband named Chaz (Ben Aldridge). While on what she thinks is a romantic anniversary cruise, Chaz throws her overboard. She miraculously survives the ordeal and is saved by Mick (Matt Barr), a former detective now living alone on a desert island. Joey doesn't want Chaz to know she's alive until she finds out the motive behind his nefarious deed...and she can plot her revenge.

Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner (Dirk Gently) penned the script and executive produce the CBS Television Studios drama alongside Keshet Studios' Peter Traugott, Rachel Kaplan, Avi Nir and Alon Shtruzman.

Olsen, whose husband, Eric Christian Olsen, also stars for CBS Television Studios-produced NCIS: Los Angeles, most recently starred opposite Tom Cruise in Universal's American Made. She recently wrapped filming the indie Freeka Reeka Sheeka Deeka and the Big Battle in the Forest, in which she stars opposite her husband. Her TV credits include Marry Me, Parks and Recreation and Mad Love. Olsen is repped by CAA, Ellen Meyer Management and Hansen Jacobson.
