ABC's Scandal is poised to introduce first lady Mellie Grant's (Bellamy Young) sister.

True Blood alum Lauren Bowles has been tapped to guest star on the network's political soap, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Bowles will play Harmony and appear in the April 2 episode. The role is currently scheduled for one episode. It's unclear if the character will return in future episodes — as has been the case with multiple guest stars on Scandal.

The story will focus on Elizabeth's (Portia de Rossi) fear that Mellie's sister could be detrimental to their political aspirations. Her arrival comes as President Grant (Tony Goldwyn) has been eyeing a new lame-duck VP who won't run against Mellie, who continues to have political aspirations of her own.

"You know what Huck (Guillermo Diaz) did to that room of people selling drugs and Jake (Scott Foley) had to come and cut their heads off? That's what their relationship looks like," Young told The Hollywood Reporter of what to expect from the sibling storyline. "It's a bloodbath! It's going to do a great job of trying to derail what Mellie is doing [in terms of running for office]."

For Bowles, meanwhile, this marks her third trip to Shondaland following guest gigs on Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.

Scandal airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on ABC. What do you think of the casting? Stay tuned to The Live Feed for more Scandal scoop from the cast.
