A year after Vinyl's cancelation, HBO is returning to the 1970s with The Deuce, a new drama starring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Ahead of its Sept. 10 premiere, the pay cable network is giving the public a peak at the eight-episode series, which comes from novelist George Pelecanos and The Wire creator David Simon.

The Deuce follows the story of the rise of the porn industry in New York’s Times Square from the early 1970s through the mid-1980s, exploring the rough-and-tumble world at the pioneering moments of what would become the billion-dollar American sex industry.

Set to Curtis Mayfield's "Move on Up," the 30-second clip teases the violence, sex and greed sure to play a significant role in the series. Franco, who plays twins in the drama, serves as an executive producer alongside Pelecanos, Simon and Nina K. Noble.
