Like his star, director Mark Webb also went for blue on his big night.

Showtime is looking for laughs in the corporate world.

The premium cable network is developing Professionals, a comedy set in the world of corporate espionage, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Created by David J. Rosen and Marc Webb, Professionals centers on two partially broken midlevel employees who become ensnared in a dangerous game of corporate espionage.

Showtime has ordered three scripts for the comedy, with the intention for them to serve as the first three installments of the potential series. Rosen, who created MTV's I Just Want My Pants Back and Fox's ultimately doomed Us & Them remake, is attached to pen the script and exec produce alongside Webb. Webb, whose credits include (500) Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel, is attached to direct.

Professionals marks Webb's second comedy set up at Showtime, where he's also exec producing and directing Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

Rosen is repped by CAA and McKuin Frankel. Webb is with CAA, Anonymous Content and attorneys Jamie Feldman and Linda Lichter.

For Showtime, Professionals comes as the cabler is busy repiloting Happyish and casting fellow comedies Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Cameron Crowe's Roadies. The cabler this season will say farewell to veteran Nurse Jackie and has fellow half-hours Episodes, House of Lies and Web Therapy on tap as well as dramedy Shameless.
