Bryan Cranston's Gangster Hunts Giovanni Ribisi's Con Man in New 'Sneaky Pete' Trailer

Sneaky Pete Amazon trailer grab - H

Giovanni Ribisi is on the run in the new trailer for Bryan Cranston's Sneaky Pete, which will bow on Amazon Jan. 13. Cranston, who is one of the drama's executive producers, is the gangster who's hunting him.

The trailer shows Ribisi's con man, Marius, getting out of prison and assuming the identity of his cellmate, Pete (Ethan Embry), in a bid to steal the money he owes Cranston's vicious gangster, Vince, from his new "family."

His "relatives" are described as a colorful group with secrets of their own, who have no reason to suspect their estranged family member Pete. Faced with a one-week countdown to turn up $100,000, Marius attempts to save himself and his brother while navigating new threats from the relatives.

"A liar gets caught in a lie, they don't come clean; they build a bigger lie," says Marius, as his plan appears to blow up around him. His suspecting grandmother, played by Margo Martindale, asks, "Is this someone I trust?"

Guns and fistfights, a bank robbery, kidnapping and a deadly face-off with Vince ensue, leading Marius to say: "If you think you know who I am, you've been conned."

Sneaky Pete was part of Amazon's pilot season last year after CBS passed on the Sony Pictures Television-produced pitch. It was picked up to series in November. Marin Ireland, Peter Gerety, Libe Barer and Shane McRae also star.

The series comes from co-creators Cranston, of Breaking Bad fame, and The Americans' Graham Yost. Executive producers are Justified's Michael Dinner and Fred Golan, All the Way's James Degus and Horrible Bosses' Seth Gordon.

The first season of Sneaky Pete will be released on Amazon Prime Jan. 13. Watch the season-one trailer below.
