Saturday Night Live has added a new featured player.

The NBC sketch series hired Pete Davidson, a show rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter

The comedian's TV credits include guesting on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'N Out. The 20-year-old also appeared in Fox's Sober Companion comedy pilot.

Davidson has been touring and performing at comedy clubs since age 16, according to the biography on his official site. He performed at comedy clubs in Staten Island before branching out to touring, he told comedy site Splitsider in an August interview.

The hire arrives as SNL ramps up prior to its season 40 premiere on Sept. 27. Days ago, The Daily Show comedian Michael Che was added to replace Cecily Strong as Weekend Update co-anchor.

Deadline first reported the news.
