Adam Sandler takes a creepy walk down memory lane in the promo video for his upcoming role as host on NBC's Saturday Night Live.

The clip opens with Sandler walking down the hallways of Studio 8H. The actor and comedian's appearance marks his first return to SNL since he left the show as a main castmember in 1995.

"Look at this guy," Sandler notes as he admires black-and-white pictures of himself during memorable sketches from his time on the late-night series. Following photos of himself and other alumni from the show, the hallway soon becomes decorated with paparazzi and personal shots of Sandler. "None of these are from SNL," he says to himself as he looks at pictures of him inside of his house. "Did my kids give them these pictures?"

Sandler becomes even more frightened when he views a photo of himself asleep in his bed on the wall.

The slow piano soundtrack featured in the clip picks up and becomes more intense when Sandler views a photo of himself looking at the pictures in the hallway in real time.

Castmember Kenan Thompson then appears, which startles Sandler. "You never really leave," says Thompson, who dons a possessed expression. He soon reveals that he's just joking and greets Sandler with a hug.

As the two embrace, Thompson stares into the camera and his eyes glaze over. "What's happening?" asks Sandler as the two continue to hug.

Sandler will be joined by musical guest Shawn Mendes on the upcoming episode of SNL. Watch the full promo below.
