The night before Sunday’s Academy Awards, NBC's Saturday Night Live once again targeted Hollywood’s sexual harassment scandals with an awards ceremony sketch. Presented by the so-called "Academy of Sexual Harassment in Hollywood," "the Grabbies" honored Hollywood’s top harassers. Oscar statuettes were replaced with golden groping hands.

Cecily Strong played a red-carpet host with a rotating slate of male co-hosts who kept getting replaced because of their own harassment scandals. Alex Moffat played a man nominated for “handsiest actor.” “It’s such a tough category this year. The competition is so stiff,” he said before doubling down on his inappropriate choice of words.

Things got more explicit from there, with the sketch spoofing just how prevalent these sexual harassment scandals have been. Pete Davidson played a character nominated for “most open robe.” When asked what he was wearing for the occasion, he replied: “Thin sweatpants with no underwear.” In a preview of his acceptance speech, he thanked guns “for pivoting the national conversation away from harassment” and his uncle for always saying, “Boys will be boys.”

Kenan Thompson’s character was nominated for the Cecil B. Molestin Lifetime Achievement Award, a play on the real-life Cecil B. DeMille Award.

The week's host, Charles Barkley, also played Tim Franklin, a character nominated for “best non-apology.” Franklin had initially come out in support of women speaking out, issuing a statement that said “all women deserve to be heard.” But when he himself was accused of sexually harassing a woman, he called her a “lying troll” and had his lawyer publish her address. He sported pins saying “Tim’s Up” and “I’m with herpes.”

Aidy Bryant played the first woman nominated for a Grabby Award, having “bit off an intern’s penis.”

SNL has previously commented on the #MeToo movement in sketches like “Next deodorant for men” and a "conversation between friends about Aziz Ansari."
