'Snowfall' Renewed for Season 3 at FX
Snowfall's story will go on.
FX has renewed the John Singleton-produced drama for a third season. The news arrives as the 1980s-set series about the rise of the crack cocaine epidemic wraps its sophomore run on the basic cable network on Thursday.
"It has been great to see Snowfall’s audience and critical acclaim grow in its second season," FX head of originals Eric Schrier said Wednesday in a statement. "The creative team has done a fantastic job and we have high hopes for season three."
The series, created by Singleton, Eric Amadio and Dave Andron, will return in 2019. An episode count has not been determined.
Starring Damson Idris, Carter Hudson and Emily Rios, Snowfall has averaged 931,000 viewers among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic and 1.7 million total viewers with three days of DVR. The show, along with Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans MC, has helped FX keep the lights on this summer.
Snowfall is executive produced by Singleton, Amadio, Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Michael London and Trevor Engelson. Andron serves as showrunner on the FX Productions-produced series.
Snowfall is part of an FX drama lineup that also includes Mayans, American Crime Story, American Horror Story, Feud, Pose, Fargo, Taboo, Legion and the upcoming Shogun limited series.
