TV Land has tapped Bill Martin and Mike Schiff to serve as co-showrunners for the fourth season of comedy The Soul Man. The duo take over from Yvette Lee Bowser, who departed the series at the end of season three.

Additionally past guest Sherri Shepherd, recently sprung from her longtime gig on The View, will recur in a lengthy arc. The actress and comedian will appear in 10 episodes of the 12-episode season. Shepherd returns as Nikki, the unpredictable cousin to Cedric the Entertainer's Boyce Ballentine.

Shepherd's other TV credits include 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother and her own short-lived series, Sherri.

Martin and Schiff join The Soul Man with a joint résumé that includes 3rd Rock From the Sun and Grounded for Life. The series returns to TV Land sometime in 2015.
