'South Park' to Tackle Normalcy of School Shootings in Season Premiere

South Park is going to address the normalcy of school shootings in the premiere episode of season 22.

In a clip shared Monday for "Dead Kids," Randy is more upset that Stan failed his math test than over the fact that "some kid shot up the school."

The shooting also doesn't phase Stan, who struggles to remember what happened during the day to talk about at the dinner table.

Stan's mom, on the other hand, is very upset.

"Sharon is overreacting to everything these days and Randy can’t cope," reads the episode description.

Weeks ago, the marketing campaign began for the new season with #cancelsouthpark.

It is unclear how political this season might get, but creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have said in the past they have more fun with the show when it focuses on the kids doing their own thing.

That said, the past few seasons have waded pretty deep into politics, with Mr. Garrison becoming a Trump-like figure. And last season did end with Garrison dropping a nuke on Canada.
