You're the Worst creator Stephen Falk is going right to work on his new overall deal with FX.

The showrunner is reteaming with three writers from the FXX critical darling for two different comedies in development at the cabler, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The first is an untitled semi-autobiographical comedy from YTW's Alison Bennett that is described as a dirty female-driven take on the "you can't go home again" story. It centers on Ali, an unrelenting dissatisfied TV writer who returns to her hometown in rural Pennsylvania to live the "simple life."

Bennett and Falk will co-write the script and both exec produce under Falk's overall deal with FX Productions.

The second comedy is called Join Me and hails from YTW writers Franklin Hardy and Shane Kosakowski, both of whom will pen the script. Based on the novel Join Me by Danny Wallace, the comedy centers on Danny, the ultimate beta-male and perpetual follower, who thrusts himself into the leadership role of an amorphous group of followers after he places an ad online that simply says, "Join Me."
Falk will executive produce the FXP comedy alongside Hardy and Kosakowski as well as 3 Arts' Tom Lassally and author Wallace.

"It's such a fun job. There are four writers and myself, and our script coordinator — who co-wrote an episode this season. The six of us hang out and talk," Falk told THR at the top of season two about how the writers' room operates. "They're just very keyed-in, tuned-in people and we all just happen to have really similar senses of humor and we fuel each other. We speak as the character, we act things out and we improv. It's very annoying but we're talking all the time. … It's really kind of a lunatic asylum in there."Falk is repped by UTA; Bennett (The Awesomes) is with Jackoway Tyerman; frequent collaborators Hardy and Kosakowski (The Muppets, The Goode Family) are with 3 Arts.

The news comes as You're the Worst continues to gain critical acclaim and land on top 10 lists for the year's best programming.

The season two finale of YTW airs Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. on FXX.
