The big bads keep getting bigger on The CW's Supergirl.

The second year DC Comics drama has enlisted Kevin Sorbo, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The Hercules: The Legendary Journeys alum will have a recurring role and play a mysterious new villain on the Melissa Benoist starrer. Additional details about Sorbo's character and when he will debut are being kept under wraps.

"Since his days as Hercules, Kevin Sorbo has brought such a strong presence to the screen, and we couldn't be more excited to have him join us on Supergirl," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement.

This marks Sorbo's biggest TV role since he wrapped his five-season role as Capt. Dylan Hunt on Andromeda. Repped by TalentWorks and Marsh Entertainment, Sorbo is best known for his six-season run as Hercules in the syndicated show Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Sorbo's casting comes days after Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman alum Teri Hatcher booked a big recurring role in the second half of Supergirl's sophomore run. She, too, will be portraying a mysterious villain. The casting reunites Hatcher with her former onscreen Clark Kent/Superman, Dean Cain, who recurs as Kara's (Benoist) foster father.
