Matt Damon is headed to Netflix.

A survival comedy series executive produced by the Oscar winner has landed a series order at the streaming giant, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The unscripted/scripted hybrid series, titled The Green Beret’s Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse, is described as an anthology series that combines humor and usable survival skills. Each episode chronicles its own contained apocalypse that the show's hero somehow manages to survive.

The project hails from two military veterans: Shawn Vance, a former U.S. Special Forces Green Beret, and Daril Fanin, an ex-combat medic in the U.S. Army. The duo will star in the comedy, which is set for an eight-episode first season.

The pair will also exec produce with Damon and Jennifer Todd through their Pearl Street Films, as well as Film 45's Peter Berg, Matt Goldberg and Brandon Carroll.

Military shows have become a popular trend in the Trump era, with the broadcast networks getting ready to unveil three military dramas this fall (NBC's The Brave, CBS' SEAL Team and The CW's Valor). History also has Six heading into season two and USA has Shooter, which is in its second season. In the unscripted area, Fox has American Grit.

Berg, who directed the Mark Wahlberg military drama Lone Survivor (2013), serves as exec producer on several unscripted military series and specials through his Film 45 banner, in addition to exec producing the HBO football comedy Ballers, which was recently renewed for season four.

For Damon, Green Beret’s Guide marks a rare foray into television. He last exec produced Syfy's one-and-done drama Incorporated through Pearl Street with longtime friend and collaborator Ben Affleck. As an actor, Damon will next be seen in Alexander Payne's Downsizing and George Clooney's Suburbicon.

The Green Beret’s Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse joins other Netflix original unscripted entries including Chelsea, Bill Nye Saves the World and David Letterman's upcoming talk show, in addition to reality competition series Ultimate Beastmaster.
