For three consecutive years, funny ladies Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have co-hosted the Golden Globe Awards, racking up some memorably comedic moments.

Fey and sidekick Poehler confirmed to questioning audiences — viewers wondered if the two would return as hosts despite 2015 being mentioned as their final year — that the 72nd annual awards was, indeed, the nail in the coffin for their time as the show's co-hosts.

“We are so happy to be here hosting the 72nd and final Golden Globe Awards,” Poehler said opening the show, as Fey mouthed the word “yes” while nodding her head.

In honor of the comedic duo, The Hollywood Reporter recalls Fey's and Poehler’s laugh-out-loud and jaw-dropping Golden Globe moments from the past three years:

Flirtations With George Clooney

Fey and Poehler were not shy in declaring their affections for leading man George Clooney. In 2013, Poehler situated herself on the actor’s lap as her name was announced for her best comedy actress in a TV series nomination for her performance in Parks and Recreation.

The jokes directed at Clooney continued in 2014, when the Gravity actor's name made it into the introductory speech opener. “Gravity is nominated for best film. It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age,” Fey said.

Just when the actor thought he was off the hook for being off the market, the co-hosts threw another jab at Clooney for his 2015 Cecil B. DeMille Award. “George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin this year. Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an adviser to Kofi Annan regarding Syria and was selected for a three-person UN commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza strip. So tonight, her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award," Fey said.

Joaquin Phoenix Singled Out Twice

Joaquin Phoenix has been the butt of Fey's and Poehler’s opening jokes for two consecutive years. In 2014, the actor starred in the Golden Globe-nominated film Her, which Fey pinged for her list of quips. “One of my favorite films this year is the movie Her, which takes place in the not-so-distant future, which is perfect because so does Joaquin Phoenix.”

The co-hosts singled out Phoenix again for his attendance at the 2015 show. “[I] never want to have that experience again," the actor told Interview magazine in regard to the awards circuit. Though the hosts made sure the actor's presence was publicly acknowledged and he ate his words, Phoenix went along with the joke and smiled and waved to the co-hosts.

Tina and Amy Bring Drinks to the Stage

With drinks in hand, the two ladies let the jokes go "there" when they brought their beverages to the stage at the 2013 awards show. "Well, the show has really taken a turn," Poehler said with tongue out. "Time to start drinking," Fey followed as she took a sip from her glass.

"Congratulations, Lena. Glad we got you through middle school," Fey quipped at Globe winner Lena Dunham. She furthered the jokes with a jab at pop icon Taylor Swift. "You know what, Taylor Swift? You stay away from Michael J. Fox's son," Fey said as Poehler shook her finger in front of her face.

The Joke Was on North Korea

“Tonight we celebrate all of the great television shows that we know and love as well as all the movies that North Korea was OK with," Fey joked at the 2015 awards ceremony.

In 2014, Sony was the victim of a cyber attack that released private information and emails as a threat to dissuade the studio from releasing the Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy The Interview. But Fey and Poehler wanted to remind North Korea that the joke was on them.

“The biggest story in Hollywood this year was when North Korea threatened an attack if Sony Pictures released The Interview, forcing us all to pretend we wanted to see it,” Poehler said. Margaret Cho also joined the ladies throughout the awards show, performing as a North Korean journalist who forced Meryl Streep to take a photo with her. She closed the show with, "Show over; I host next year.”

“North Korea referred to The Interview as 'absolutely intolerable' and a 'wanton act of terror.' Even more amazing: not the worst review the movie got,” Fey joked.

Bill Cosby Laughs Were "Oh, Heck Yes!"

Fey gave Bill Cosby forewarning of her and Poehler's intention to joke about the recent allegations against the longtime comedian at the awards show. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Fey said "Oh, heck yes!" to jokes about the former Cosby star at the 2015 Globes.

"I put the pills in the people that the people did not want put into them," the ladies joked, impersonating Cosby during the show open. "Sleeping Beauty just thought that she was grabbing coffee with Bill Cosby," Poehler said in reference to the character's appearance in Into the Woods.
