Falling Skies (TNT)

What it’s about: Executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the alien invasion drama stars Noah Wyle (ER) as a former history professor who is charged with leading a regiment of resistance fighters protecting a big group of civilian survivors – all while trying to free his son from alien captivity. Think of it as V meets The Walking Dead.

Premiere date: Sunday, June 19 at 9 p.m.

Talk about having a big debut.

TNT's anticipated new alien series Falling Skies will be launching in more than 75 countries, it was announced Thursday by the cable network and Turner Broadcasting System International.

Set to premiere in the U.S. on June 19, international launches of the Noah Wyle drama will follow later this summer.

“The launch of Falling Skies promises to be a global television event,” said Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks. “We’re excited that people around the world will be able to experience this great new series.”

The countries that will be airing it include Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Canada, South Korea and the U.K.
