Josh Pence, John Gallagher Jr. and Thomas Sadoski have joined Aaron Sorkin’s cable news pilot at HBO.

The project, tentatively titled More as This Story Develops, revolves around Will (Jeff Daniels), the co-anchor of a cable news show who must contend with a new team after his fellow host lands a new gig and takes most of his staff with him. Alison Pill co-stars as Maggie, one of Will’s loyal associate producers who is in a shaky relationship with Rob, a senior producer on the show.

Pence, best known as Armie Hammer’s body double in Sorkin’s The Social Network, will play Rob.

Gallagher, who starred in Broadway’s Spring Awakening, will play Jim, a handsome staffer with a crush on Maggie.

Sadoski (Broadway’s Reasons to be Pretty) will play Will’s former executive producer who is among the staffers to jump ship.

Alan Poul (Six Feet Under) recently joined the project as an executive producer alongside Sorkin and Scott Rudin (The Social Network), and will direct episodes should the pilot go to series.

Pence is repped by Innovative and Anonymous; Gallagher is with Gersh; and Sadoski with UTA and Industry.
