Tuesday late-night ratings: Conan widens demo lead

Tuesday night's late-night battle shows Conan O'Brien's "Tonight Show" climbing slightly, while David Letterman's "Late Show" fell from Monday's episode.

NBC's "Tonight" reversed its fortunes Tuesday, climbing a notch in total viewers (3.3 million) and the adults 18-49 demographic (1.4).

On CBS, "Late Show" (3.4 million, 0.7) continued to draw the larger overall audience, but by a narrower margin.

"Late Show" fell 13% in viewers and 30% in the demo following Monday's episode where Letterman apologized for his jokes about Sarah Palin's family. Last night, the host made light of the protests, presenting the Top 10 Things Overheard at the "Fire Dave" Rally (video below).
