TV Ratings: 'Aquarius' Makes a Quiet Entry

Aquarius Duchovny - H 2015

NBC is taking a different strategy with Aquarius, the first broadcast drama to release all of its episodes online at once (a la Netflix), so that probably makes Thursday's premiere ratings somewhat easier to stomach.

After weeks of pushing streaming availability for the David Duchovny series, it opened with a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 for its two-hour premiere. That's off from last year's big drama entry Night Shift, though that had the benefit of an America's Got Talent lead-in.

Aquarius was outperformed by all other original outings on the broadcast networks last night — like Fox's Wayward Pines (1.2 adults), which has at least proven that there is a substantial DVR appetite for this summer's scripted offerings. Fox also had a new episode of Bones (1.2 adults), up two-tenths of a point from last week.

ABC had the two-hour finale of 500 Questions, which continued to hold steady with a 1.1 rating in the key demographic.
