TV Ratings: 'Bachelorette' Improves, 'MasterChef' Premiere Down

An original episode of NBC's "Law & Order: LA" sinks double digits.
"The Bachelorette"

ABC swept Monday in the ratings with The Bachelorette and Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition.

The Bachelorette (8 million total viewers, 2.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic), which created some mixed reactions from viewers due to a comedy "roast" and one of the bachelor's behaviors, improved from last week's Memorial Day telecast. However, it was still down 7 percent in the adult demo from the premiere. Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition (5.7 million, 2.2), on the other hand, sank 8 percent from last week.

Fox's MasterChef (4.3 million, 1.8) premiered at 8 p.m., going head-to-head with Bachelorette, placing second in the demo. Fox slipped by CBS, which aired reruns of its comedies and Hawaii Five-0, to come in at No. 2 in the demo for the night.

NBC's Law & Order: LA (6.2 million, 1.3) dipped 13 percent at 10 p.m.
