TV Ratings: 'Big Bang' and ABC Dramas Lead Thursday

The second episodes of 'Powerless' and 'Training Day' hold steady — and pretty low.

Thursday was another strong one for CBS' The Big Bang Theory and ABC's drama block.

Though the sitcom led the night, per usual, among adults 18-49 with an average 3.0 rating, it was Shonda Rhimes' trio of dramas that gave ABC demo dominance for the entire primetime block. All three were steady with last week's showings, Grey's Anatomy leading the way with a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49. Scandal (1.6 adults) and How to Get Away With Murder (1.3 adults) followed.

The Great Indoors returned to its time slot after last week's Superior Donuts sampling. It averaged an even 1.6 rating in the key demo, leading into similarly unmoved outings of Mom (1.6 adults) and Life in Pieces (1.3 adults). The second episode of Training Day saw no improvement, coming in last in the 10 o'clock hour with a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49 for CBS.

Fox kicked off the new season of MasterChef Junior, steady with its last run, earning a same-day score of a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49. That lead-in did some to help My Kitchen Rules, which perked up to a 0.9 rating in the key demo.

On NBC, the second episode of Powerless was steady with its premiere episode — though decidedly not improved. The comedy averaged a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 after Superstore pulled a 1.1 rating. Chicago Med (1.2 adults) and The Blacklist (0.9 adults) were unmoved.

Supernatural (0.6 adults) and Riverdale (0.4 adults) were both even on the CW.
