TV Ratings: 'Big Brother' Dips From Thursday Premiere; Fox and ABC Split Demo

The CBS series still tops Sunday among broadcasts, while "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" and animation encores drive the rest of the night.

ABC and Fox shared a victory among adults 18-49 on Sunday, with the networks' respective reality block and animation encores averaging a 1.4 rating in the key demo.

Following an encore of America's Funniest Home Videos (1.2 adults rating), ABC had a new episode of Secret Millionaire (steady with a 1.5 adults rating) and two hours of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition (down a tenth of a point for a 1.4 adults rating). The network averaged 4.8 million viewers.

Fox's encore outings of American Dad, The Cleveland Show, The Simpsons and Family Guy averaged 3.1 million viewers.

Big Brother's Sunday premiere topped all programming among broadcast networks last night in the target demo. The CBS series was down from Thursday's official debut with a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49, building on the 7 p.m. broadcast of 60 Minutes (1.0 adults rating). Encores of The Good Wife and The Mentalist rounded out the night, giving CBS an average 1.1 rating among 18-49-ers and the night's top audience of 5.4 million viewers.

Back-to-back episodes of Dateline earned respective 0.7 and 0.9 ratings among adults 18-49, leading into two hours' worth of America's Got Talent encores. NBC averaged a 0.9 in the demo and 5.6 million viewers.
