Facing more than a few repeats at 8 o'clock, The Voice had no problem locking in a Tuesday win in the first week since This Is Us left the schedule.

The hourlong episode fetched a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 10.8 million viewers, winning the night by both measures. Rise was steady in its new time slot, losing only a tenth of a point, coming in with a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. before a new Chicago Med (1.2 adults).

Seeing some of the weeks only lifts was ABC: both The Middle (1.3 adults) and Black-ish (1.1 adults) improved by two-tenths of a ratings point from recent episodes on either side of a steady Fresh Off the Boat (1.0 adults). But airing after a repeat of Modern Family did no favors for midseason Shondaland production For the People. It slipped more than 20 percent to a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49 and just 2.7 million viewers.

Black Lightening didn't need a new lead-in. After a repeat of The Flash, the CW show held a 0.5 rating among adults 18-49 and 1.5 million viewers.

Fox only aired new episodes of comedies LA to Vegas (0.6 adults) and The Mick (0.7 adults), each of which held steady.
