TV Ratings: 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' Closes on Demo Low
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune finished its eight-episode run on ABC Thursday with a season low in adults 18-49 — but it still ranks as one of the best first-year shows this season. CBS' Young Sheldon continued to hold onto its perch as the night's top show in both total viewers and adults 18-49.
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune scored a 0.73 rating in the 18-49 demographic for its finale, about a tenth of a point lower than last week and its worst mark of the season. It had 5.71 million total viewers, the second smallest audience of the season. Nonetheless, the game show is currently among the top-performing newcomers on the broadcast networks in 2020-21. The Chase drew a 0.59 and 4.3 million viewers at 9 p.m. — also below average — and a second episode at 10 came in at 0.47 and 3.41 million viewers.
Young Sheldon was off slightly week to week with a 0.89 in the key demo and 7.71 million viewers, but both figures led primetime by solid margins. B Positive (0.67, 5.06 million), Mom (0.69, 5.28 million) and The Unicorn (0.56, 3.81 million) were all above average, with the latter hitting a season high in adults 18-49. Clarice (0.41, 3.48 million) was fairly steady.
On Fox, Hell's Kitchen (0.72 in 18-49, 2.58 million viewers) ticked up in the demo, and Last Man Standing held at 0.45 and 2.5 million viewers. Call Me Kat (0.47, 1.97 million) declined slightly. Superstore (0.43, 2.3 million) hit a six-episode high in viewers and was in line with its 18-49 rating from a week ago. The rest of NBC's lineup and all of The CW's were reruns.
On cable, The Rachel Maddow Show finished first in total viewers (3.39 millon) for MSNBC, topping Tucker Carlson Tonight (3.16 million) on Fox News. The latter had a slight edge in the core news demo of 25-54, earning a 0.44 rating to Maddow's 0.42. An NBA telecast on TNT (Heat-Pelicans) topped the 18-49 rankings at 0.39.
