Empire managed to hold Wednesday night, facing a slew of repeats on the Big Four.

After two weeks' worth of same-day ratings lows, the Fox drama earned a steady 2.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 6.6 million viewers. It easily nabbed the demo crown for the night, though Survivor again emerged with a more substantial audience.

Fox won the night with Empire and lead-in Shots Fired. The 8 p.m. event drama pulled a steady 0.9 rating among adults 18-49.

CBS was the only other network to program all originals for the night. A steady Survivor led the way with a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.2 million viewers. Back-to-back episodes of bubble show Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders brought a 0.9 and a 0.8 rating in the key demo. The 9 o'clock showing marked an improvement from its regular time slot.

Elsewhere, only Designated Survivor was new. The ABC drama earned a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers after two hours of comedy encores.
