TV Ratings: Fox's 'Hell's Kitchen' Premiere Tops ABC's 'Bachelorette'

The ninth season premiere of Fox's Hell's Kitchen topped ABC's dating reality series The Bachelorette on Monday in the ratings, posting the network's highest-rated Monday with the help of MasterChef since June 2008.

Hell's Kitchen (5.8 million total viewers, 2.5 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic) was the top-rated program among adults 18-49, though the first hour of The Bachelorette (7.8 million, 2.3) drew more viewers at 8 p.m. The Bachelorette, though, dipped 15 percent to its season low.

An original MasterChef (5.6 million, 2.3) followed Hell's Kitchen at 9 p.m., remaining steady with last week's telecast, ranking as the night's second-highest telecast -- only behind Kitchen. In its time period, MasterChef ranked second behind the second hour of The Bachelorette in the 18-49 demo.Fox topped ABC in the ad-coveted demo, averaging a 2.4; ABC was the night's most-watched network in primetime, drawing 7.1 million.

At 10 p.m., ABC's Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition (5.9 million, 2.0) rose 5 percent, easily winning its hour against repeats of Hawaii Five-0 and Harry's Law.

NBC's broadcast of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (4.3 million, 0.8), which already finished its run on the USA Network, was steady.
