NBC scored an easy victory Tuesday night with the return of This Is Us.

Broadcast's highest-rated show, off the air since November, didn't skip a beat in its winter premiere. The hour averaged a steady 2.7 rating among adults 18-49 and 9.7 million viewers. That was after a new Game of Games, the renewed series steady with its 8 o'clock showing last week — a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 and nearly 8 million viewers. (Chicago Med held with a 1.4 rating.)

CBS saw similarly stable outings of NCIS (1.5 adults), Bull (1.2 adults) and NCIS: New Orleans (1.0 adults).

On Fox, the second episode of L.A. to Vegas lost some steam in the face of This Is Us. It lost three-tenths of a ratings point, averaging a 0.8 rating in the key demo. Lethal Weapon (1.0 adults) and The Mick (0.7 adults) held.

The Middle (1.3 adults) took a slight dip on ABC, as did Fresh Off the Boat (1.0 adults) before a steady Black-ish (1.0 adults) and flat Kevin (Probably) Saves the World (0.7 adults).
