March Madness resumed on CBS, with the Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament pulling strong preliminary ratings for the network. Ahead of time zone adjustments, the games averaged a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 in primetime. That's up from last week and steady with the comparable numbers from last year.

The Blacklist (1.6 adults) was off two-tenths of a point, hitting a series low, after another episode of its Dateline companion (1.0 adults) fell by the same measure. As for The Slap, its penultimate swing was an even 0.7 adults rating.

Bones returned to Fox after a brief winter hiatus. The series averaged a steady 1.3 rating among adults 18-49, up a hair from its last original. Backstrom (0.9 adults) was also steady.
