TV Ratings: 'Monday Night Football' Gets Another ABC Boost

An ABC-ESPN simulcast of Monday Night Football scored the NFL franchise's biggest audience in nearly three months — since the last time both outlets aired it. The game easily dominated Monday's primetime ratings.

Farther down the charts and just outside primetime, conservative news outlet Newsmax scored a narrow win among adults 25-54 over Fox News, the first time that's happened.

The Buffalo Bills' 34-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers averaged about 14.2 million viewers on the two Disney-owned networks — 7.76 million on ESPN and the remaining 6.44 million on ABC. That's the biggest Monday Night Football audience since Sept. 21, when an ABC-ESPN simulcast marking MNF's 50th anniversary drew 15.44 million.

At 7 p.m., Newsmax's Greg Kelly Reports brought in 229,000 viewers in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (a 0.19 rating) to top The Story With Martha MacCallum on Fox News (203,000/0.17). The demographic win marks a first for Newsmax, which has seen big ratings gains following the presidential election for its unabashedly pro-Trump coverage. The Story still had a significantly larger total audience of 1.59 million viewers to 949,000 for Kelly's show, and Fox News' primetime lineup led cable news in total viewers Monday.

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show was No. 1 among individual cable news shows Monday, clocking 3.33 million viewers and edging the 3.29 million for Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News.

On the broadcast networks, NBC's The Voice and a Monday edition of I Can See Your Voice on Fox tied for the adults 18-49 lead with 0.8 ratings.
