TV Ratings: Game 1 of the NBA Finals Tops Tuesday for ABC

Fast affiliate ratings give the first Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder showdown an easy victory, leaving slight reality dips in its wake.

The NBA finals got off to a solid start Tuesday night, with Game 1 between the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder earning a 5.1 rating among adults 18-49 according to fast affiliate ratings. Final time zone adjusted numbers will change the score of the ABC broadcast, but as it stands, the network tops the night with the demo and total viewers, posting a 4.6 adults rating and 11 million viewers. Elsewhere on ABC, Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night, posted a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49.

Hell's Kitchen was even with last Tuesday's 2.1 rating among adults 18-49, though, against the NBA, MasterChef was down a tenth of a point for a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49. Fox had 5.1 million viewers for the night.

Sharing Fox's 2.1 adults rating and besting it in viewers with 6.9 million, NBC had new episodes of American Ninja Warriors (earning a 1.6 adults rating on a special night), America's Got Talent and Love in the Wild. The dating series was flat with a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49, while America's Got Talent was down 14 percent from last Tuesday for a 3.0 adults rating -- still making it the top-rated entertainment program of the night.

CBS encores, earning a solid second place for the night among total viewers with 7.2 million viewers, earned a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 for the night. And on The CW, an original broadcast of The Catalina earned a 0.2 adults rating.
