TV Ratings: NBA Playoffs, 'Ninja Warrior' Top Labor Day Finals

A pair of NBA playoff games on TNT and the season premiere of American Ninja Warrior on NBC topped Monday's final ratings.

The Ninja Warrior premiere delivered the best adults 18-49 rating — 0.6 — on the broadcast networks and largest total audience (3.66 million viewers) on either broadcast or cable. Nothing else on the English-language broadcasters got above a 0.4 in the key ad demographic; CBS' Love Island drew a 0.3 (along with 1.63 million viewers, off slightly week to week) and ABC's The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever posted a 0.2 in adults 18-49 and 1.42 million viewers.

TNT had the two top 18-49 ratings on Labor Day with its NBA doubleheader. The Los Angeles Clippers-Denver Nuggets game at 9 p.m. ET led the way with a 1.4 rating, while the earlier game between the Boston Celtics and defending champion Toronto Raptors drew a 1.05 in the demo. Fox News' Tucker Carlson Tonight was the most watched show on cable with 3.51 million viewers.

Over the weekend, a Sunday night NBA playoff game (Los Angeles Lakers-Houston Rockets) on ABC drew the league's largest postseason audience (5.43 million viewers) this year. Power Book II: Ghost debuted on Starz to 680,000 viewers, a little ahead of the 630,000 for HBO's Lovecraft Country. The same day, on-air numbers for those two shows represent a small fraction of the viewers they'll eventually tally across all platforms.

Note: Final daily ratings are delayed this week due to the Labor Day holiday and will run 12 to 24 hours behind their normal schedule.
