TV Ratings: NBC Comedies Improve, 'SHIELD' Moves, 'Wife Swap' Returns Down
It may tie a series low, but The Voice's 2.9 rating among adults 18-49 was steady and more than enough to top all other broadcast series on Tuesday night.
Following the dominant singing competition, comedies About a Boy (1.9 adults) and Growing Up Fisher (1.6 adults) improved a respective two- and one-tenth of a point. Chicago Fire (1.7 adults) was off by a tenth, giving NBC a nightly average of a 2.1 rating in the key demo and 8.4 million viewers.
Both NCIS and NCIS: LA averaged 2.1 ratings with adults 18-49 on CBS. NCIS was down a half of a point from last week, while LA was off by only two-tenths. Person of Interest (1.7 adults) returned off just two-tenths as well. CBS topped the night in total viewers, with 14 million, and averaged a 2.0 rating with adults 18-49.
ABC, which has opened Tuesday nights with Agents of SHIELD all season, experimented by moving the night's original to 9 p.m. With an average 2.0 rating among adults 18-49, the show was up just a tenth. The lead-in did little for the return of Celebrity Wife Swap (1.0 adults), down 1.4 points from its premiere last February. All in all, ABC posted a 1.3 demo rating and 3.8 million viewers.
New Girl (1.1 adults) returned with no boost, off just a tenth of a point and sandwiched between steady outings of Glee (1.0 adults) and The Mindy Project (1.0 adults). Fox took a 1.0 rating with adults 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers for the night.
Both The Originals (0.6 adults) and Supernatural (0.8 adults) were off from last week, down a respective one- and two-tenths of a point. The CW took a 0.7 rating and 1.6 million viewers.
