TV Ratings: 'Notorious' and 'Pitch' Hold With Second Episodes

The two dramas, with modest live returns, at least boast good retention on Thursday night.

Thursday night saw the most stability yet for the new broadcast season. And the lack of dips is a good thing, considering some of last week's inauspicious debuts.

With CBS not airing Thursday Night Football, victory went to a Grey's Anatomy-driven ABC. The drama, the Big Four's top demo draw of the night, averaged an even 2.4 rating among adults 18-49.

After a lackluster premiere, Notorious at least maintained 100 percent of its debut score. It earned a 1.1 rating in the key demo (and 4.6 million viewers) before a steady How to Get Away With Murder perked back up to a 1.3 rating in the key demo.

Good news for NBC: the Thursday comedies were also reasonably stable, though they were outmatched by CBS repeats of The Big Bang Theory and Kevin Can Wait. Superstore took the most noticeable hit, down three-tenths of a point to a 1.2 rating in the key demo, while The Good Place pulled the same score by falling two-tenths of a point from its week ago time slot premiere.

Chicago Med (1.3 adults) held steady, while The Blacklist (1.1 adults) dipped two-tenths of a point. On Fox, both Rosewood (0.8 adults) and Pitch (1.0 adults) held steady.
