NBC must be getting anxious for the Olympics. The biennial ratings draw of the Games, just around the corner, previewed some especially strong numbers on Sunday night.

After a solid showing from track-and-field at the top of the night, the U.S. women's gymnastics Olympic Trials surged to a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.3 million viewers. That easily puts it as the biggest trials coverage thus far and helped NBC win the night — despite a strong rebound for ABC's game-show block.

All three ABC series were up from last week's Independence Day dips. Celebrity Family Feud rose the most, matching an also-boosted $100,000 Pyramid with a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49, while Match Game, with a 1.2 rating in the key demo at 10 p.m., was up nominally.

The rest of the broadcast networks aired repeats.
