Though nothing like the previous Sunday, NBC still sets a high for the weekend.

NBC's ratings for the Rio Olympics were a mixed bag on Sunday night.

Primetime coverage, which included more gold for gymnast Simone Biles and a 100m victory for sprinter Usain Bolt, was up from Friday and Saturday — but down from last Sunday and off sharply from the comparable Sunday during the 2012 London Games.

Per Nielsen's metered markets, NBC coverage averaged a 17.4 overnight rating among households. That was up a full point from the night before.

Total viewership will end up north of 25 million, though nowhere near the 31.3 million that tuned into London's second Sunday four years ago.
