TV Ratings: Steady 'Modern Family' Tops in Return, 'Chicago P.D.' Grows

Wednesday night brought a three-way tie in the broadcast networks' fight for adults 18-49. ABC, Fox and NBC shared their victory among the key demo, the former thanks to the return of Modern Family.

The ABC comedy nabbed a 2.6 rating among adults 18-49, steady with its last original a month ago, to top all other series for the night. Its return goosed Black-ish, up to two-tenths of a point to a 2.0 rating in the key demo, while The Middle (1.8 adults), The Goldbergs (2.0 adults) and American Crime (0.9 adults) held steady.

American Idol nabbed a steady 2.1 rating in demo on Fox, while Hell's Kitchen dropped two-tenths of a point to a 1.3 rating with adults 18-49.

The Mysteries of Laura (1.2 adults) and Law & Order: SVU (1.9 adults) were steady on NBC, while Chicago P.D. jumped 20 percent to a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49.

On CBS, the entire lineup of 2 Broke Girls (1.6 adults), Mike & Molly (1.6 adults), Criminal Minds (1.8 adults) and Code Black (1.3 adults) were all in line with their last originals.

Arrow and Supernatural pulled a respective 0.9 and 0.8 rating among adults 18-49 on The CW.
