Fox narrowly bagged a nightly win among adults 18-49 on Wednesday, edging past CBS and NBC.

The demo victory was largely on the shoulders of 911, which trailed only Survivor among the night's offerings with a flat 1.6 rating among adults 18-49. The X-Files came in with a 0.8 rating at the top of the night.

On CBS, Survivor topped all others with an average 1.7 rating among adults 18-49. It was followed by a repeat of NCIS and a new Criminal Minds (0.9 adults). NBC put out a slightly diminished Blacklist (0.9 adults), an improved Law & Order: SVU (1.3 adults) and a flat Chicago P.D. (1.2 adults).

Speechless stumbled in its time slot move, slipping to a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 in the first of two back-to-back half-hours. A Modern Family rerun was followed by American Housewife (1.0 adults) and Designated Survivor (0.7 adults).

On The CW, Riverdale earned another 0.4 rating in the key demo and Life Sentence essentially maintained its premiere score, coming in with a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 620,000 viewers.
