TV Ratings: 'Young Sheldon' Scores Season Highs
CBS' Young Sheldon earned an across-the-board win in primetime Thursday, reaching same-day season highs in total viewers and adults 18-49. It also led the night among adults 18-34 and 25-54.
NBC's Mr. Mayor, meanwhile, finished its season on a slightly down note, drawing its smallest initial tune-in to date.
Young Sheldon's 0.95 rating among adults 18-49 and 7.87 million viewers were both season highs, and the comedy helped lead-out B Positive (0.69, 5.19 million) score its best demo rating of the season. Mom (0.66, 5.18 million) and Clarice (0.43, 3.65 million) were steady, and The Unicorn (0.53, 3.76 million) ticked up in the 18-49 demo.
The finale of Mr. Mayor averaged a 0.45 in adults 18-49 and 2.54 million viewers, both season lows (though not by much). Superstore, however, improved on its last outing with a 0.46 in the demo and held steady in total viewers at 1.9 million (the show will add substantial audience via digital platforms). Law & Order: SVU was also down a little at 0.66 in adults 18-49 and 3.78 million viewers.
ABC's Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (0.82 in 18-49, 5.93 million viewers), The Chase (0.64, 4.56 million) and The Hustler (0.44, 2.67 million) were all in line with last week. Fox had a mixed bag as Hell's Kitchen (0.67, 2.58 million) slipped a little, Call Me Kat (0.49, 2.19 million) was steady and Last Man Standing (0.45, 2.52 million) improved.
On cable, Fox News' Tucker Carlson Tonight led primetime in total viewers (3.41 million) and the key news demo of adults 25-54 (0.47). An NBA telecast on TNT (Pelicans-Bucks) had the top 18-49 rating with a 0.4.
