VH1's Drumline sequel did respectably in the ratings.

Drumline: A New Beat, which featured original star Nick Cannon in a cameo, attracted 2.4 million viewers and a 1.4 in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demo on Monday in its 9 p.m. premiere. With the 11:30 p.m. encore factored in, the TV movie's viewership jumps nearly 1 million, to 3.3 million.

That's off the pace of the network's CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, the 2013 effort that was the highest-rated TV movie of the year among adults 18-49, with a 2.9 rating. It drew 4.5 million to its initial airing last October.

Among females 18-34, Drumline: A New Beat posted a 2.3 rating, making it the No. 4 cable movie this year in that demo.

Alexandra Shipp, Jeff Pierre, Jordan Calloway, Jasmine Burke, Scott Shilstone, LeToya Luckett and DeRay Davis starred in the film, which also returned original star Leonard Roberts.
