Welcome to another episode of TV's Top 5, The Hollywood Reporter's TV podcast.Every week, hosts Lesley Goldberg (West Coast TV editor) and Daniel Fienberg (chief TV critic) break down the latest TV news with context from the business and critical sides, welcome showrunners, executive and other guests and provide a critical guide of what to watch (or skip, as the case may be).

This week's five topics are:

1. The latest "un-renewals."
GLOW and On Becoming a God in Central Florida are the latest to join a rapidly growing list of scripted originals to be "un-renewed" due to issues stemming from the pandemic. This segment explores the reasoning behind both moves and more.

2. SNL's latest controversy.
Speaking of the pandemic, SNL parted ways with this weekend's musical guest after he broke COVID-19 safety protocols. This segment explores how the NBC sketch show is taking precautions to safely film in its famed Studio 8H in New York as well as Dan's thoughts on the Chris Rock-hosted premiere.

3. Gilmore Girls returning to The CW.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is one of only two Netflix scripted originals to be licensed to a linear network. But is the move the latest effort by a broadcast network to bolster its schedule with "gently used" programming? Is this a new business model for Netflix? It's an interesting deal to say the least.

4. Showrunner Spotlight.
Alex Kurtzman
joins the show this week for an in-depth and revealing interview about the rising costs associated with filming during the pandemic, how the future of Star Trek is mapped out through 2027 (!) and the prolific producer's thoughts on Showtime's controversial The Comey Rule.

5. Critic's Corner.
As usual, every episode ends with Dan's look at what to watch (or skip). This week, he weighs in on The Haunting of Bly Manor, Deaf U, The Right Stuff and … The Bachelorette. (OK, we're kidding on that last one.)
