'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' Reveals Season 3 Premiere Date By Paying Homage to Beyonce

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt wants you to join the Formation.

The third season of the Ellie Kemper-starring comedy will release on May 19, Netflix announced with a Beyonce-themed teaser on Monday morning.

The Lemonade-inspired clip shows Titus Andromedon (played by Tituss Burgess) taking a bat to boyfriend Mikey's (Mike Carlsen) truck while dressed in a yellow getup that pays homage to the Roberto Cavalli dress Beyonce wore in her "Hold Up" video.

The Beyonce nod comes in the wake of the Lemonade singer's captivating Grammys performance, where her pregnancy was on full display Sunday night. Though she only took home two of the nine awards for which she was nominated, she remained the star of the night when Adele, who swept her nominations, dedicated her album of the year win to Beyonce in a tear-filled speech.

Kimmy Schmidt, created by Tina Fey and 30 Rock's Robert Carlock, also stars Jane Krakowski and Emmy-winner Carol Kane. The Netflix series is a production of Universal Television, Little Stranger Inc., 3 Arts Entertainment and Bevel Gears for Netflix.
