USA Network and AwesomenessTV are teaming up.

The NBCUniversal cable network has ordered a comedic crime drama pilot produced by the digital company.

Olive Forever follows the exploits of Olive, a mysterious high school student with an affection for cat burglary-type shenanigans, mostly because she is a cat burglar. New to a sleepy town with a criminal underbelly, Olive must navigate new foster parents, new boyfriends, new gangsters … and new crime opportunities.

Insurgent writer Brian Duffield penned the pilot, which Matt Shakman (Game of Thrones) is set to direct. They will both exec produce with Duffield's producing partner, Nicki Cortese of Jurassic Party, and Awesomeness TV's Brian Robbins (Smallville), Matt Kaplan (The Lazarus Effect) and Brett Bouttier (Before I Fall). The pilot hails from Universal Cable Productions.

For AwesomenessTV, the pilot pickup comes amid changes at the five-year-old company, which was founded by Robbins, who recently stepped down as CEO. It was acquired last year by NBCUniversal when the latter bought AwesomenessTV parent company DreamWorks Animation.

Although a planned streaming service from Awesomeness and Verizon was recently scrapped, the company's originals slate continues to grow with films that include Before I Fall, its first theatrical release, and TV shows such as Netflix's Richie Rich and Hulu's Freakish.

For USA Network, the pilot comes a month after the network handed out series orders to two of its recent pilots, the period drama Damnation and the Tupac-Biggie murder drama Unsolved, both of which hailed in-house from UCP.

Duffield's other screenwriting credits include The Babysitter and Jane Got a Gun. However, this marks his first foray into TV.
