USA's 'Burn Notice' Telefilm Does OK, Disney's 'Lemonade Mouth' Strong

Two telefilms premiered on cable, including USA's Burn Notice prequel The Fall of Sam Axe

Sam Axe, starring Bruce Campbell and directed by series star Jeffrey Donovan, lured in 3.57 million total viewers on Sunday from 9-11 p.m. Of that number, 1.44 million belonged in the adults 18-49 demo and 1.64 million were in adults 25-54. In 18-34, about 591,000 tuned in.

The fifth season of Burn Notice premieres Thursday, June 23 at 9 p.m. as a lead-in to new USA series Suits.

Disney Channel's Lemonade Mouth aired Friday, luring in 5.7 million viewers, making it the top original cable movie of the year. The telefilm was the No. 1 telecast in kids 6-11 (2.3 million) and tweens 9-14 (2.1 million).

Lemonade Mouth is based on the book of the same name by Mark Peter Hughes, penned by April Blair and directed by Patricia Riggen. The film is by no means in the realm of High School Musical, which attracted 7.7 million viewers to its premiere in 2006. High School Musical 2 trumped that by more than 10 million, drawing more than 18 million viewers to the debut in 2007.
