'Veep' Star Tony Hale Wants to Be the Trump Team's Official Hugger

Tony Hale knows a thing or two about attending the Emmys. "I've been doing this [acting] for over 20 years," the Veep star says. "I still get excited about the party aspect of it all. The food is free, which is still thrilling for me."

Despite being nominated (and winning) multiple times for an Emmy, Hale is still pretty overwhelmed by the idea. "To this day, it's a list I thought I'd never be invited to," the actor admits while he stopping by The Hollywood Reporter offices for a quick chat about the latest season of Veep. "It's still 'Wait, why is my name on that list?'"

Hale has been nominated 5 times for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, and has won twice for his role as Selina Meyer's (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) personal aide and trusted confidant, Gary Walsh.

When asked what role he thinks Gary would play in the Trump administration, Hale answered quite simply: "He'd be the hugger."
