Kim Kardashian says she is behind Bruce Jenner "100 percent" as he goes through gender transition.

In an interview with Today's Matt Lauer that aired Monday, the reality star said of her stepdad, "I'm really happy for him — that he is living his life the way he wants to live it and that he has found inner peace and just pure happiness."

"That's what life is about," she added. "I don't know what life would be like if you always felt like you weren't yourself, and I know it's not something that you or I could really fully understand, but I don't even think we have to. I think as long as he is happy, and he wants to live his life however he wants to live it, that just makes me happy, and I support him 100 percent."

She also called it a "hard adjustment" and a "daily process," saying they've sought therapy, but shot down tabloid reports that certain family members aren't supportive. She added that Jenner has also "done a really good job at walking us through" his transition.

"I think he's ready for the challenge, and he's ready to help other people's lives that might be going through the same things he's going through," she said. "And that's something he's really proud of and something he's really ready to take on, and I'm really proud of him for that."

Jenner appeared on ABC's 20/20 on Friday night, giving his first interview about his gender transition to Diane Sawyer. The two-hour special — in which he declared "I am a woman" — drew nearly 17 million viewers.
