ABC's The View has its eyes set on a new co-host for season 20.

Days after parting ways with co-host Michelle Collins, the morning show is in talks with Sara Haines to board the series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Haines is a lifestyle anchor for Good Morning America Weekend Edition as well as a correspondent for ABC News. She previously co-hosted the fourth hour of NBC's Today Show alongside Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. Haines has been a frequent guest co-host on The View for the past two years.

The news comes days after The View parted ways with Collins following a one-year run as a co-host. She will remain on the show through the end of the summer; her final date has not yet been determined.

The news comes amid a turbulent few seasons on The View after the departures of co-hosts Rosie O'Donnell, Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez following Barbara Walters' retirement. Meanwhile, co-host Whoopi Goldberg is expected to re-sign a new deal to remain on board as moderator.

As part of the show's creative makeover, ABC Television Group president Ben Sherwood enlisted a new behind-the-scenes team including executive producer Candi Carter and consultant Hilary Estey McLoughlin.

It's unclear if there will be any other onscreen changes as The View heads into season 20.
